Streak snapped: Michigan State takes down Nebraska for first win in over a month

Michigan State is finally back in the win column.
After a month without a victory on the hardwood, the Spartans got a much-needed victory over Nebraska on Saturday evening in East Lansing. Michigan State defeated the Huskers 66-56 to improve to 9-7 on the season and pick up a third B1G victory during the 2020-21 campaign.
The last victory for the Spartans was a 68-45 win over Rutgers on Jan. 5. Tom Izzo’s team had dropped four-straight games, falling to Purdue, Rutgers, Ohio State and Iowa. Michigan State had been on a long delay because of COVID-19 concerns in the middle of January, having to postpone three games and didn’t have a competition in 20 days.
Kicking off the rust had been a problem for MSU since its return.
Jeremy Langford led the way for Michigan State on Saturday, scoring a game-high 18 points while making 4-of-6 shots from 3-point land. He also grabbed 5 rebounds in the win. Aaron Henry had a great game, as well, scoring 16 points, collecting 6 rebounds and dishing 5 assists for the Spartans.
The struggles continue for Nebraska, which has yet to win a B1G game. The Huskers are also in the middle of a long losing drought, with their last victory being a 110-64 win over Doane on Dec. 17. But Nebraska had been dealing with similar circumstances as Michigan State, having their last four games postponed until Saturday, as well as five of their previous six.
