It didn’t take long for the equipment staff to be called into Thursday night’s Gasparilla Bowl between UCF and Florida.
In the first quarter of the Gasparilla Bowl, the helmets between a Florida and UCF player got locked up, and it wasn’t exactly a quick fix. The players and officials attempted to fix the issue, but the equipment staff has to be called into action.
Below is the video of the helmets locking up:

To quote Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation, “Got a little knot here.”
Florida squeaked into the postseason with a 6-6 record while UCF finished the year at 8-4. The two teams made the trip to Tampa to play their final game of the season.
Hopefully this will be the only equipment issue the two teams have to deal with throughout the course of the game.
