In addition to the B1G teams finding themselves ranked among the top of the college football polls this season, the league has also been leading the way in another category. The league is a leader in the new statistic — name, image and likeness compensation.

A recent study by Opendorse revealed some interesting facts. After the first three months of the “NIL Era” in college sports, the B1G leads all conferences in compensation. Men’s basketball and football accounting for nearly 80% of compensation.

The NCAA changed its position over the last year, now allowing every NCAA athlete in the country to make money from endorsements and a variety of other ventures. Since then, the news has been peppered with releases and reports of athletes taking advantage of their name, images and likeness.

According to the study, posting content accounts for 87% of activities. As a result, D-I athletes have made an average of $391 on NIL.
