Scott Frost was able to reach across state borders and steal one of the top 2019 recruits from Iowa.

Three-star defensive end and Waverly, Iowa native Mosai Newsom announced his commitment to Nebraska on Monday morning, becoming the 14th members of the Cornhuskers 2019 recruiting class. He made his announcement via Twitter:

Newsom is rated as the fifth-best prospect out of Iowa, according to 247Sports.com. He’s ranked among the top 50 defensive ends. In addition to the Nebraska, Newsom had offers from four B1G schools; Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota and Northwestern.

With the addition of Newsom, the Huskers own the 24th ranked class of 2019, and sit at seventh in the B1G.
