TCU fell to Kansas State in overtime on Saturday, a shocking 31-28 loss that sent rumors swirling about TCU’s College Football Playoff future.
Headed into Saturday, TCU was in the midst of a Cinderella season, having made it through the regular season undefeated. But, the Big 12 Championship loss is reminiscent of the 2014 season when the Horned Frogs went 11-1 but were left out of the CFP top 4 in favor of Ohio State.
No. 5 Ohio State is expected to replace No. 4 USC after the Trojans lost to Utah in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday. Does a TCU loss open the door for No. 6 Alabama to sneak in? The Crimson Tide are on the outside looking in with a 10-2 record on the season.
However, if social media is any indication, the Horned Frogs aren’t done this season.
TCU’s only loss is in overtime against probably a top-7 team and conference champ. Bama has 2 losses probably both to non-conference champs. https://t.co/IudTexEas8

TCU robbed. A hollow title for Kansas State.
TCU will begin preparing to play Georgia in the CFB Playoff.

TCU has earned a spot in the CFP even if they lose. Stop it.

So are we really going to keep TCU out after beating 5 ranked teams and having to play in their conference championship?
If I’m TCU I would have passed. Give me the Alabama or Ohio State route. Would rather be at home eating popcorn.

TCU should still get into the PLAYOFFS don’t take that away from them… MAX DUGGAN FOR HEISMAN!

DOWN GOES TCU. But too close for Alabama to sneak in. This will be your Top 4 for the CFP:
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Ohio State
4. TCU— Sam Block (@theblockspot) December 3, 2022
So bold statement: Bama-UGA and OSU-Michigan are monster ratings games. TCU losing in OT in the #Big12 championship game might be an excuse for the committee to get the brands they want in

Some takes
-If any committee member brings up the possibility of leaving TCU out, they should be fired
-Alabama's best win came against an 8-4 team
-Tennessee beat Alabama. Are we judging teams or quarterbacks?— Connor Ferguson (@cfchangs9) December 3, 2022
The way this has gone, there’s no way the committee can keep TCU out.
