The Tennessee Volunteers defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide 52-49, thanks to a last-second 40-yard field goal as time expired. After Alabama kicker Will Reichard missed a 50-yard field goal, Hendon Hooker quickly led the Volunteers into field goal range.
The win marks the first win for Tennessee over Alabama since October 21, 2006. With the win, the Volunteers also moved to 6-0 on the season, while the Tide go to 6-1.

Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker had a huge game with 385 passing yards and 5 TDs. Hooker also contributed 56 rushing yards.
Alabama QB Bryce Young, who was questionable coming into the game, ended up also having a huge day. Young had 455 yards and 2 TDs.
The two teams were almost identical in total yardage. Alabama finished with 569 total yards, while Tennessee ended with 567. On the ground, Tennessee collected 182 yards to Alabama’s 114.
The Volunteers will play host to UT Martin in Week 8, while the Tide will host a tough Mississippi State team.
