A piece of Bret Bielema’s off-the-field staff at Illinois is on the move and is headed to work under Sam Pittman at Arkansas.

On Thursday, Terry Hawthorne announced his departure via a note on Twitter. Hawthorne was a star at Illinois before getting drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I would like to thank the team, coaches, and staff of the Illinois Fighting Illini football program at the University of Illinois,” wrote Hawthorne on Twitter. “I always have appreciated my time as an Illini and will continue to support my alma mater…Big thanks to Coach B for giving me my first opportunity at this level after playing…And now I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining the University of Arkansas Razorbacks football program!”

Hawthorne served as the director of high school personnel and Illini relations. He is reportedly expected to serve as a defensive quality control analyst at Arkansas.
