Texas A&M athletic director takes shot at Ohio State’s schedule, CFP candidacy

Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork is not happy about Ohio State’s chances to make the College Football Playoff.
After the Aggies’ win over Tennessee on Saturday, Bjork fired off a Tweet about A&M’s seven-game winning streak being longer than Ohio State’s 2020 schedule:

That certainly seems to be the party line down in College Station. Coach Jimbo Fisher had similar remarks after the game.
Included in those seven straight wins are victories over Arkansas, South Carolina, LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee. Prior to the start of that seven-game winning streak was a 52-24 loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
There’s also something Ohio State has over Texas A&M — a conference championship. Ohio State won the Big Ten title on Saturday over Northwestern. Due to the loss at Alabama, the Aggies failed to win the SEC West.
Ohio State’s 6-0 record was significantly impacted by items out of its control. The Buckeyes had two games canceled due to COVID-19 outbreaks by their opponents, the most in the Big Ten.
Despite A&M’s qualms, Ohio State appears to have a spot secured in the final four. The Buckeyes have ranked No. 4 by the selection committee for a few weeks now, and their win over Northwestern should only strengthen that assessment.
The College Football Playoff field will be announced on Sunday.
