Michigan’s offense has been unstoppable today.

The Wolverines got their offense started early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to open the game against Texas Tech. And while the game was going back-and-forth in the early stages, Michigan has taken a sizable advantage in Omaha.

A five-run 6th inning pushed Michigan’s lead to 12-3 with just three innings left to play. A win over Texas Tech, and the Wolverines go 3-0 in the College World Series and secure a spot in the championship.

Michigan got its first run of the inning with a bases loaded walk, taking an 8-3 lead. Jordan Nwogu was able to keep the inning going, getting a two-RBI double with two outs. Jesse Franklin then stepped to the plate and knocked in two more with a single to the outfield.

With its production in the 6th inning, Michigan scored 10 unanswered runs.

The 6th inning also marked the end of the day for starting pitcher Karl Kauffman. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks while striking out two batters in his six innings of work.

Jeff Criswell came in for the top of the 7th.
