Lincoln may be a little overcrowded on the final weekend in September, thanks to some major athletic events that will take over the city.
On Monday, Nebraska basketball announced that on Friday, Sept. 27, the new-look Huskers will take the floor at Pinnacle Bank Arena for Opening Night with Husker Hoops. There will be a musical performance, a live scrimmage, fan contests and player and coach introductions throughout the night.
It will be the first public look at new head coach Fred Hoiberg and the 2019-20 Nebraska basketball team.

What else is going on that, you ask? The following day (Saturday, Sept. 28), the Huskers football team hosts Ohio State at Memorial Stadium. It could be a top 25 showdown between the two programs.
Lincoln is already a crowded place on Saturdays in the fall, so it was a smart move to host the Nebraska basketball event the day before such a big game. Fans may start arriving a day early to check out the new basketball program, as well.
