We knew it was coming, but now it’s official. The opening spread for Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Rutgers is absolutely massive.

According to VegasInsiders.com, Ohio State opens as a 50.5-point favorite this weekend as it travels to Piscataway to take on Rutgers. The spread is released following the Buckeyes 73-14 thrashing of Maryland on Saturday. Rutgers is coming off a bye week, but is 2-7 this season.

Last weekend, the Buckeyes opened as a 43.5-point favorite against Maryland. They had no trouble covering that spread.

Ohio State has defeated everyone on its schedule by at least 24 points. Rutgers has not scored more than 10 points in a B1G game this year. The Scarlet Knights have not won a B1G game since 2017.

It’ll be interesting to see if that line moves in favor of the Buckeyes in the coming days.
