If you’re interested in getting in on the action for Week 0 of the B1G season, The Power Rank has you covered.
The Power Rank’s Ed Feng has released his model’s prediction for this weekend’s game between Nebraska and Illinois.
Here’s a quick explainer of how he arrived at the projections below:
“The Power Rank uses data and analytics to make accurate predictions for football and March Madness. I developed these methods based on my PhD in applied math from Stanford.”
Here’s Feng’s take on the B1G Week 0 matchup:
- Nebraska will beat Illinois by 10.1 on the road. Illinois has a 22.9% chance of beating Nebraska.
Nebraska is coming off a 3-5 season in 2020 and has had losing seasons in all three years under Frost. Nebraska hasn’t had a winning season since 2016 and hasn’t won a bowl game since 2015.
In its first season under Bret Bielema, Illinois is seeking its first winning season since 2011. Illinois is considered one of the most underrated teams in the B1G this season, according to CBS Sports.
Nebraska at Illinois is slated for Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. EST (FOX).
