After eight weeks of the regular season, the B1G Champions Week is almost upon us.

The slate will be without three games (Purdue at No. 11 Indiana, Michigan at No. 16 Iowa, Michigan State at Maryland) due to COVID-19 concerns.

However, there’s still an exciting slate for fans to look forward to, anchored by the B1G title game between No. 4 Ohio State and No. 14 Northwestern on Saturday (11 a.m. CST/FOX).

Ohio State has won the conference championship game the last three seasons and has captured the B1G title 38 times overall. This will be a rematch of the 2018 B1G title game in which Ohio State defeated Northwestern 45-24.

The Power Rank’s Ed Fang has released his model’s predictions for this weekend’s games. The cancelled games are also included to give a view of what was expected:

Northwestern versus Ohio State at a neutral site.
Ohio State (2) will beat Northwestern (31) by 24.4 at a neutral site. Northwestern has a 5% chance of beating Ohio State.

Here’s an explanation of the process taken for the projections above:

“The Power Rank uses data and analytics to make accurate predictions for football and March Madness. I developed these methods based on my PhD in applied math from Stanford.”
