Mike Krzyzewski is one of the legendary coaches in all of sports. So you might expect that his press conference would be a very formal occasion that didn’t involve any strange shenanigans along the way.
But as Coach K walked to the press table to make the announcement that he’d lead Duke just one more season before stepping down, something interesting happened. A tradition at Cameron Indoor Stadium kickstarted the presser in interesting fashion.
Below is the clip from Krzyzewski’s press conference on Thursday:

This wasn’t just something down out of the blue…no pun intended.
Cameron Indoor Stadium plays the song at every home game Duke plays during the college basketball season, so it does have some relevance to the situation. Still, it was a strange way to start a press conference.
