‘The Trey Era’: Ohio State drops highlight video of Sermon’s historic performance

Trey Sermon is making his one season in Columbus count!

The former Oklahoma Sooner transferred to Ohio State this offseason, utilizing his last season of eligibility in 2020 with the Buckeyes. He has been a key contributor all season, but he saved his best two performances for the end of the year.

Against Michigan State, Sermon rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on just 10 carries. That was his first 100-yard game as a Buckeye, but he improved on that in the B1G Championship Game.

In case you haven’t heard, he ran for 331 yards on 29 carries and scored two second-half touchdowns against Northwestern. The touchdowns gave Ohio State the lead against the Wildcats while Sermon put up a program single-game record in rushing yards for the Buckeyes.

In six games, Sermon has 675 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Though it’s highly unlikely he improves on his Championship Game numbers when Ohio State faces Clemson, he will likely see plenty of action to help balance the offense.

Ohio State’s College Football Playoff semifinal game is set for Jan. 1 at 8 pm EST.
