Penn State is looking to add on to the momentum of the backend of last season, whereafter they started 0-5, they got hot and won their last 4 games.
QB Sean Clifford is ready for a bounce-back season, and with backup QB Will Levis moving on to Kentucky, he will have no one breathing down his neck for the starting job.
Last season Clifford completed 152 passes on 251 attempts for 1,883 yards with a 60.6% completion rate; he had 16 touchdowns to 9 interceptions.
The Nittany Lions have a new OC in town, Mike Yurcich replacing Kirk Ciarrocca after just one season coming from Minnesota. He is coming over from the University of Texas. Last season the Longhorns scored 42.7 points per game.
Jahan Dotson, the Nittany Lions elite WR, loves what he sees from Clifford right now.
“This is the best I’ve ever seen him,” Dotson said Tuesday morning.
How is Sean Clifford different now? Dotson said Mike Yurcich wanted Clifford to do less, not worry as much. “This is the best I’ve ever seen him,” Dotson said.

Clifford has been under scrutiny for his trouble with turnovers last season. Under Yurcich, and with another year under his belt, it sounds like the quarterback is ready to rebound after a subpar year.
The Nittany Lions are ranked No.19 in the AP Top-25 poll and go on the road to face the No.12 Wisconsin Badgers this Saturday, Sept. 4.
