Tarik Black is tired of losing. Following Michigan’s 41-15 loss to Florida in the Peach Bowl, the wide receiver has made it his personal goal to put an end to these kind of performances.
The Wolverines were competitive in the first half, trailing just 13-10 after the first two quarters. But in the second half, Florida outscored Michigan 28-5 to get their 10th win on the season.
For Michigan, it was another disappointing loss and a lousy way to end a once-promising season. After the loss, Black made a promise that the losing was over at Michigan.
“This stuff isn’t happening again,” Black said, according to Nick Baumgardner of the Detroit Free Press. “This losing stuff. Not again.”
Tarik Black after the game, said he’s been healthy enough to play. Added:
‘This stuff isn’t happening again. This losing stuff. Not again.’

Michigan didn’t exactly do a lot of losing this season, finishing with a 10-3 record. But the games the Wolverines lost came to Notre Dame, Ohio State and Florida, all of which finished the year ranked in the top 10.
Jim Harbaugh is now 1-9 against top 10 opponents and has a 1-3 bowl record at Michigan.
Black hasn’t seen much field time over the last two seasons, suffering two foot injuries. When he was in the game, he was one of the better deep threats on the field for the Wolverines. His return next fall, if healthy, will make a big difference. But is it enough to get over the hump?
Black played in five games this season, catching two passes for 20 yards. He caught two passes for 15 yards in the Peach Bowl. In two years in Ann Arbor, Black has 184 yards and a touchdown on 15 catches.
