On Sunday, Pro Football Focus released its college football team of the week.
Three different Big Ten players made the team with two coming on offense and one on defense. And surprising enough, none came from Ohio State.
On the offensive side, Michigan State true freshman wide receiver Ricky White was named to the squad. He started the season with just one catch for five yards against Rutgers.
Against Michigan, he was on another level. He grabbed eight catches for 196 yards and a touchdown. The former three-star recruit also earned true freshman of the week honors from PFF. They wrote that White busted off six explosive plays of 15-plus yards against Michigan.
Upfront, Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum earned the spot on the team of the week. He earned some preseason hype after being the Hawkeyes’ starter at center in all 13 games in 2019. Though Iowa is 0-2, it appears its offensive line is doing just fine.
The only Big Ten player on PFF’s defensive team is Indiana linebacker, Micah McFadden. After an 11-tackle performance against Penn State, the Tampa native had six tackles against Rutgers and grabbed an interception. He had just two all of last season.
