We don’t often hear the word “steal” mentioned with a player who was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft. That word is usually reserved for guys taken in the fifth, sixth or seventh round, or even goes unpicked.

Terry McLaurin is changing that, though.

During Monday Night Football’s matchup between Washington and Chicago, McLaurin made league history in just his third career game at the professional level. After catching six passes for 70 yards and a touchdown, McLaurin became the first receiver in NFL history to total five catches and a touchdown reception in each of his first three games.

Here are McLaurin’s numbers for each game:

  • Week 1 vs. Eagles: 5 catches, 125 yards, 1 TD
  • Week 2 vs. Cowboys: 5 catches, 62 yards, 1 TD
  • Week 3 vs. Bears: 6 catches, 70 yards, 1 TD
  • Total: 16 catches, 257 yards, 3 TDs

Not a bad start to his NFL career. Unfortunately for the Redskins, that record-setting start hasn’t resulted in any wins, as Washington is 0-3.

Nonetheless, it’s quite the start to what appears to be a strong NFL career for the former Buckeye.
