Three Rutgers players enter NCAA transfer portal

Three Rutgers players have entered their name in the NCAA transfer portal and will explore other options, according to a report.
On Thursday, offensive guard Jonah Jackson, tight end Nakia Griffin-Stewart and running back Max Anthony announced that they will leave Rutgers as graduate transfers and will seek to finish their football careers elsewhere. The news was reported by NJ.com.
Jackson is the most significant player to depart from Piscataway. He was the only full-time starter and was a team captain for the Scarlet Knights. He was easily Rutgers’ top offensive lineman and was an All-B1G honorable mention.
He appeared in 31 career games with 16 starts.
Griffin-Steward played in 25 games with the Scarlet Knights, totaling 13 receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown over the last two years. In 2018, he caught just two passes for 10 yards.
Anthony participated in 22 career contests but was primarily used as a blocking back and on special teams.
As graduate transfers, all three players will be eligible to play immediately regardless of where they decide to complete their careers. There were no potential landing spots mentioned.
