Indiana football got some good news on the potential return for one of their defensive backs on Tuesday.
The team has dealt some major injuries this year with the likes of quarterback Michael Penix Jr missing time and wide receiver DJ Matthews out with a torn ACL.
In spite of all of Indiana’s injury troubles, it looks like a return for Tiawan Mullen maybe just on the horizon. Mullen returned to practice on Tuesday and stated that it went smoothly.

Mullen had an injury before the Penn State game during Week 5, and hasn’t played since. The defensive back was crushed when he found out he was going to miss extended time and couldn’t help out his teammates.
Tiawan Mullen on having to sit out with his injury: “Deep down in my soul, it hurt me that I can’t help my team, help the guys and go out there and produce for them. I try to be positive everywhere I can.” #iufb

However, Mullen is remaining vigilant and is hoping for a return to action on Saturday against 4-3 Maryland. He hasn’t let his injury stop him from helping his teammates in any way he can.
Tiawan Mullen said it’s hurt him “deep in my soul” to have to miss three games at a critical time for Indiana. He’s working his way back, hoping to play Saturday, and pumping up his teammates and even helping equipment managers while he’s on the mend. https://t.co/9EDiWahSBa
