Ticket prices plummeting for latest Alabama-Clemson title game matchup

This may be the most affordable National Championship Game ticket in quite a while.
Alabama and Clemson advanced to the title game after dominating their respective semifinal games Saturday. The Tigers dispatched of Notre Dame while the Crimson Tide took care of Oklahoma and Heisman winner Kyler Murray.
Now, the two teams are set to face off Jan. 7 in Levi’s Stadium. And according to Stewart Mandel of The Athletic, tickets are being sold well below face value:
If you live in the Bay Area and want to see the national title game in person, tickets ($475 face value) are down to $221 on StubHub.

A number of factors could be attributed to this decline in pricing. One could be matchup fatigue. After all, Clemson and Alabama have faced each other in the College Football Playoff four straight years with this year’s matchup being the third in the title game.
Another factor could be the location of the game. Levi’s Stadium is located in Santa Clara, California which means both fanbases face a decent trip to attend the game. By comparison, last year’s showdown between Alabama and Georgia was hosted at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Regardless of the reasons, anyone hoping to attend this year’s title game can still get tickets at incredibly cheap prices.
