TJ Edwards is coming off an impressive season with the Philadelphia Eagles and a Super Bowl appearance. Now, he’s reportedly landing with a new team in free agency.

During the 2022 season, Edwards produced a team-leading 159 tackles with 10 TFL, 7 pass breakups and 2 sacks for the NFC Champion Eagles. After playing a reserve role his rookie season, Edwards developed into a key performer the past 3 seasons and has back-to-back seasons with at least 130 tackles.
Outlook for Edwards in Chicago
Landing Edwards gives Chicago a veteran piece and key performer for a defense that was the worst in the NFL in points allowed per game at 27.2. Edwards’ on-field performance will be a big help but he also provides a key leadership piece for the Bears.
The move also allows Edwards to team up with fellow former Badger Jack Sanborn. Despite going undrafted out of Wisconsin, Sanborn appeared in 14 games (6 starts) with 64 tackles as a rookie.
