TJ Watt returned to practice Wednesday afternoon, but still remains on the injury reserve, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday.
The former Wisconsin linebacker has been on the injury reserve since Week 1 when he tore his pectoral muscle in the overtime win against Cincinnati. He also underwent arthroscopic knee surgery during his time on the injury reserve to clean up a preseason injury.
LB T.J. Watt returned to practice today but remains on the Reserve/Injured List.
The 21-day window to activate WR Calvin Austin III from the Reserve/Injured List has expired. He will remain on the Reserve/Injured List for the remainder of the 2022 season.

Watt had 6 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception before his injury sidelined him. The Steelers did not reveal when Watt will make his return, but this is good news nonetheless. The NFL’s sack leader from a year ago might be back on the field very soon.
The Steelers have struggled since Watt’s injury, going 1-5 without him. They’ll be hoping that the former Defensive Player of the Year will be able to get the team back on track in a few weeks.
Pittsburgh faces the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8. That game is set for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS.
