TJ Watt Madden Rating: Social media weighs in on questionable rating for star pass rusher

TJ Watt’s Madden rating was revealed Tuesday along with the rest of the Edge class for the 2023 edition of the popular NFL video game. Considering Watt is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, the ratings were surprising.

Only one Edge player received a 99 Madden rating, and that went to Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett. Watt was second on the list with a 96 overall rating.

Both Watt and Garrett were All-Pro selections in 2021, but Watt outpaced Cleveland’s big man in every key category. Watt led the way with 22.5 sacks, 21 TFL and 39 QB hits. He also had more deflected passes, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries than Garrett.
