Tom Allen has named his starting quarterback for the season finale. The Indiana head coach will stick with Dexter Williams for the Hoosiers’ rivalry game against Purdue.

Williams started against Michigan State and has appeared in three games overall this season. He completed 2 passes for 31 yards against the Spartans while rushing for 86 yards and 1 touchdown. Williams also threw 2 touchdowns against Ohio State while rushing for 46 yards.

He takes over for Connor Bazelak under center. Bazelak has thrown for 2,111 yards and 12 touchdowns with 9 interceptions this season.

This is another big spot for Williams after leading his team to victory over Michigan State. Indiana came into that game loser of seven straight games. Purdue is currently one of four B1G West teams with a 7-4 record. In addition, the Boilermakers are tied with Iowa with a 5-3 conference record.

Williams is hoping to spoil Purdue’s chances of making it to the B1G Championship Game. On a personal note, it could give the redshirt sophomore some confidence heading into the offseason.
