Indiana is coming off a road victory against Western Kentucky, toppling the Hilltoppers 33-31. The Hoosiers have a much taller task this weekend as they go on the road to face No. 4 Penn State.
Penn State will be looking to avenge last year’s 36-35 loss in OT as QB Michael Penix Jr. scored on a controversial 2-pt conversion.
The Hoosiers this season are 2-2 with losses to No.5 Iowa and No.7 Cincinnati and wins over FCS Idaho and Western Kentucky.
Head coach Tom Allen spoke Thursday about how the Hilltoppers’ up-tempo offense will help when playing the Nittany Lions this Saturday. Allen told reporters that seeing an uptempo offense last weekend will help the Hoosiers focus more vs. Penn State.
Allen said there was a lot of value in playing Western Kentucky’s uptempo offense last week because the Hoosiers can see what they did wrong and sort of apply it immediately against the tempo Penn State will run. Doesn’t make it easier to actually defend, but helps them focus.
