Indiana is looking to keep building the program under head coach Tom Allen, and he has landed with another one-word mantra for the year ahead.
Coming off of a 6-2 season and Outback Bowl appearance, Allen is determined to keep the program hungry and looking for results. That is part of the explanation for what went into Allen landing on the word “chase” as Indiana’s motto for 2021.
“Every year we have one word, and it’s all based on what I feel we need, and what does this team need to help them accomplish what they want in that year,” said Allen during an interview with Brock Huard and Ben Hartsock. “So, when the season wrapped up and we finished the bowl game. I just felt – with all the positive things that happened in 2020, I just – that word ‘chase’ just kept coming back to me.”
Allen went on to explain the definition and how it applies to the Hoosiers this season:
“As I always do I get a definition, and I come up with a definition for that…it’s an earnest or frenzied seeking after something desired, that’s what the word chase means,” said Allen.
