Some coaches celebrate big wins more than others. Count Indiana Tom Allen on the more enthusiastic end of that spectrum.

When it became clear that Indiana was going to defeat Wisconsin, Allen had a bit of an episode on the sideline.

Here’s his reaction to the game going final:

That’s a big win for Allen’s squad in a number of ways.

For this season, it means the Hoosiers are 6-1 and have an impressive ranked win on their résumé. It’s also a statement to the College Football Playoff rankings committee that Indiana is still a worthy team despite quarterback Michael Penix Jr. going out for the year with a knee injury.

But it’s also a significant milestone for Allen’s program at Indiana. The Hoosiers hadn’t defeated Wisconsin since 2002. The Badgers had won 10 straight games in this series. The last time Indiana won in Madison, Cam Cameron was the Hoosiers’ head coach.

Indiana could be in line to represent the Big Ten East in the Big Ten title game depending on if the Ohio State-Michigan game can be played next week. The Wolverines are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak.

Indiana will close out its regular season by hosting Purdue in Week 8.
