Tom Brady is only concerned with one thing: winning Super Bowl rings. He doesn’t concern himself with much else on the football field.

Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes explained just how much the Hall of Fame quarterback hates anything other than winning Super Bowls. In particular, Brady isn’t a huge fan of the Pro Bowl.

Spikes talked with Robert Klemko of MMQB about his career with the Patriots, where he played from 2010-13. That conversation resulted in Spikes revealing just how uninterested Brady is in Pro Bowl talk.

“I had one of my best years my third season,” Spikes said. “I’d been playing off the charts. And I didn’t get picked to go to the Pro Bowl. I was moping around, actually in tears, and a few guys were trying to lift me up, like, ‘It’s gonna be alright man. We’ve got to worry about what’s in front of us.’ Then The Pharaoh himself walks up to me—I used to call Brady The Pharoah and he hated that—Brady walks up to me and says, ‘Hey B, you think I play this s— to go to Pro Bowls? Get it together. Get your head up. We’re trying to win rings. That’s what it is here.’

“That’s where I knew what kind of environment I was in, how blessed I was.”

Brady is a 14-time Pro Bowl selection and has earned the honor every year since 2009. But he’s much more concerned with his five Super Bowl rings, a total he hopes increases to six after next Sunday, when New England takes on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

So, just a warning to anyone joining the Patriots organization in the future, don’t get too concerned about the Pro Bowl. It sounds like Brady has no problem telling you where your mind should be.
