Tom Brady is not calling it quits just yet. Despite winning six Super Bowls and solidifying his spot in the NFL Hall of Fame, the New England Patriots quarterback says he still has “more to prove” on the field.
Following New England’s 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs, Brady said he was unlikely to retire, but admitted he was unsure what the future holds. Apparently, the future now holds at least one more season under center.
Brady, who will celebrate his 43rd birthday before the 2020 season kicks off, said in a post on Instagram that he plans to pick himself and get back to work for next season. Whether or not that will be in a Patriots uniform remains to be seen.
“In both life and football, failure is inevitable,” Brady wrote on Instagram. “You don’t always win. You can, however, learn from failure, pick yourself up with great enthusiasm, and place yourself in the arena again. And that’s right where you will find me. Because I know I still have more to prove.”

Winning six Super Bowls and earning 14 Pro Bowl selections sure seems like more than enough to prove that Brady is the best to ever do it. But he also mentioned he wants to end every season with a win. Perhaps he wants to end his career with a Super Bowl victory?
Whether Brady is planning on one more year, or a handful of years, it’ll be interesting to see if he can get the Patriots — or whoever he’s playing for next season — back to the Super Bowl.
