Tom Herman is back in college football.

The former Texas and Houston head coach was fired by Texas in 2020, forcing him to take a job as an offensive analyst with the Chicago Bears in the NFL. He also guided Ohio State’s offense to a 2014 national title as offensive coordinator. He’s back in the college game now, having accepted the position at FAU.

He’s set to meet the team in less than an hour.

Herman started very well at Houston in 2016 and 2017, leading the Cougars to a combined 22-4 record in 2 years. He never had a losing record at Texas, but was still fired in the 2020 season after finishing 7-3.

Herman is 5-0 in bowls, including the Sugar and Peach bowl at Texas and Houston, respectively.
