Tom Izzo comments on Michigan State preparing for first home game after campus shooting

Tom Izzo has been a key leader at Michigan State in steering the community following the tragic campus shooting last week. Now, the Spartans will have their first home game following the incident, and Izzo shared some thoughts on how preparation is going.
The Spartans will play Indiana at 9 p.m. on Tuesday after they returned to action and fell to Michigan on Saturday, 84-72.
“I’m learning on the run myself,” Izzo said. “”I hope we do enough here. That doesn’t go away in a lifetime either. But as I said, unfortunately, the world moves on and you have to learn how to do that.”
As the campus attempts to move ahead, Izzo said “there was an incredible amount of people on campus” Sunday to welcome back students before classes on Monday.
“It was an incredible happening on campus. And that’s my whole point,” he said about being around each other and for those who are ready to help those who aren’t yet.
In terms of future scheduling, Izzo said there’s not yet clarity on rescheduling the Minnesota game. The best scenario he’s heard is the final week playing Tuesday at Nebraska, Thursday against Minnesota and Saturday against Ohio State. However, that’s not official and other scenarios are in play, but Izzo said that’s the “best” option he’s heard.
