Tom Izzo and Michigan State gave No. 2 Gonzaga everything they had Friday night in San Diego, California. The Spartans fell, 64-63 aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln in a game that went down to the final play.
The Spartans had a chance to win it, but guard Tyson Walker slipped and fell, forcing a less than ideal shot attempt at the buzzer that came up just short.
Izzo discusses what went wrong and expressed optimism for the future postgame.
Re: the last play, Izzo said they ran it as drawn up and got Tyson Walker open but he slipped twice and couldn’t get the shot off
