Tom Izzo explained the benefits of playing a tough early-season schedule.
Izzo said the tough stretch will benefit the Spartans later in the year, because “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Izzo also mentioned that his players shouldn’t be scared of anyone later due to the gauntlet of teams they’ve already faced.
Izzo said one thing he likes about the schedule they played is he’ll be able to look at the top 10 and ask his team, “Who are you afraid of?” And be able to look at some of the teams that beat them and say, “Who do you think you’re better than?”
