Tom Izzo has been coaching a long time. Being tired at the end of the season isn’t really something he wants to address.

However, the Michigan State head coach had no trouble addressing those comments on Friday. It’s been a question for the Spartans after losing 7 of their last 9 contests.

“People ask if we’re tired. Damn right I’m tired,” Izzo said. “I’m tired of losing.”

Stock is dropping on the Spartans, who have struggled over the course of the last month. They appeared to snap their drought with an upset win over No. 4 Purdue last week, but Izzo’s bunch couldn’t sustain that momentum.

Since MSU’s win over Purdue, the Spartans have dropped back-to-back games to Michigan and Ohio State, both road contests. Michigan State lost both games by double figures.

Michigan State closes out the year on Sunday with a home game against Maryland.

The Spartans are 19-11 on the season. It’s been a significant drop-off in East Lansing, as Izzo’s team started the month of February with a 17-4 record and appearing to be in the race for a B1G title.
