Winning his 110th game at the helm of the Michigan State Spartans on September 21 vs. the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston, Illinois, Mark Dantonio broke a tie with the late Duffy Daugherty for the most wins in school history.
To recognize this achievement, head men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo congratulated Dantonio by narrating a tribute video recapping the coach’s stellar career.
Michigan State held off showing the video until September 28 so the home fans could experience it first.

Defeating Indiana, 40-31, on September 28, Dantonio has since added win No. 111 to his ledger.
Taking over the Spartan program in 2007, he has led his teams to three B1G titles (2010, ’13, ’15) and one College Football Playoff appearance (’15).
Entering his 25th season as Michigan State’s basketball coach, Izzo has won 606 games. Winning the 2000 national championship over the Florida Gators in Indianapolis, he has since had his share of NCAA Tournament struggles.
Moving to 4-1 with the win over the Hoosiers, Dantonio and the No. 25 Spartans travel to Columbus to face the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday (7:30PM ET, ABC).
