Tom Izzo was appreciative of Michigan’s showings of solidarity with Michigan State after the tragic on-campus shooting at MSU.
Before Saturday’s game, the Crisler Center was Spartan green for a moment of silence. U-M students held a Spartan Strong banner as Michigan State’s alma mater was played by the Michigan pep band.

Izzo made sure to acknowledge Michigan’s show of class in the opening statement of his postgame press conference following the Wolverines’ 84-72 win over the Spartans.
“I’d like to thank the University of Michigan for the things they did on our behalf, from our university, our students, the three deceased students, ones that are in the hospital. I thought it was a very classy move on their part, and I appreciated that.”
