Tom Osborne has seen plenty of quarterbacks pass through Lincoln. He coached a lot of really skilled players at the position during his 25 years at Nebraska.

None of them had the skill set that Adrian Martinez possesses. Those are Osborne’s words, not mine.

The sensational sophomore quarterback and engineer behind what’s expected to be an explosive Nebraska offense received the high praise from the legendary Huskers coach this week. While talking about Martinez, Osborne couldn’t help but express just how talented the kid is.

“[Adrian Martinez] has probably the best combination of skills of any quarterback I’ve seen at Nebraska,” Osborne said, according to Doug Thomas of the Omaha World-Herald.

That’s a list that includes Scott Frost, Eric Crouch, Taylor Martinez, Tommy Armstrong Jr. and Zac Taylor, among many other names.

All season long, Frost has praised Martinez as being one of the best players he’s ever coached. He also said the Huskers will go as far as the sophomore can carry them this fall.

Osborne seems to think the exact same thing about the talented sophomore.
