Another one of the top five players from the state of Nebraska will be a Husker.
On Monday, three-star safety Isaac Gifford announced via Twitter that he will be committing to Nebraska as a member of the 2020 class. He’s the second top-five talent from the state to pledge to Scott Frost and the Huskers, along with wide receiver Zavier Betts, the highest-ranked in-state prospect.
“After a good talk with the coaches this past weekend, I’ve decided to sign with the University of Nebraska,” Gifford wrote on Twitter.

According to 247Sports, Gifford is the No. 5 player from the state of Nebraska and is listed as the No. 90 safety in the 2020 class. He becomes the 20th player of this cycle to commit to the Huskers.
Gifford also becomes the sixth player to commit to Nebraska in the month of December. His announcement comes just two days before the start of the Early Signing Period, which begins on Wednesday.
Gifford is a 6-foot, 175-pound safety and held three offers, along with Nebraska. There was also interest from Army, Oregon State and Northern Iowa at the FCS level.
With Gifford’s commitment, Nebraska ranks 20th nationally and fourth in the B1G with the 2020 recruiting class.
