Recruiting season is picking up as some of the top high school prospects in the country are starting to make key decisions for what their collegiate schools will be.

One of the top recruits in the nation in safety Xavier Nwankpa has narrowed his decision to 3 programs with 2 of those schools coming from the B1G. His list is down to Iowa, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

Over the weekend, Nwankpa set a date for his decision. Nwankpa will make a commitment on Dec. 8.

According to the 247Sports Composite, the 4-star safety from Altoona, Iowa currently ranks as the No. 45 player in the nation, No. 3 overall safety, and the top-ranked player in the state. He currently has 32 offers to play college football including Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, and Wisconsin.

According to Nwankpa’s 247 player page, he is drawing comparisons to Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James due to his great playing speed and consistent tackling abilities. He also received high marks for his blitzing ability.
