Top talent at Michigan State details decision to return for senior season

Michigan State’s top returning receiver is set for the quite the senior season. Jayden Reed was one of the top receivers in the B1g last season, hauling in 59 receptions for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He could have declared for the NFL Draft after such a season but decided to return to East Lansing for a 3rd go-around after transferring from Western Michigan in 2019. He detailed his decision to stay Wednesday evening.
“I feel like we have something very special here at Michigan State, I want to come back and compete for a B1G title and a national title,” Reed said at B1G Football Media Days. “I’ve got big goals here.”

The Spartans are looking to win the B1G for the first time since 2015 over Iowa, 16-13. With Reed and dependable quarterback Payton Thorne set to return, Mel Tucker and Michigan State could be a force to be reckoned with if the defensive side of the ball can get rolling.
