Trace McSorley has passed Christian Hackenberg as Penn State’s all-time leader in career passing touchdowns.
McSorley entered Saturday’s game against Michigan State with 47 career touchdown passes, needing one to tie and two to surpass the record, which was previously set at 48. After a pair of scoring strikes in the first quarter in East Lansing, McSorley became the new program leader.

His first touchdown pass was a 31-yard strike to DaeSean Hamilton and his second went to DaeSean Hamilton.
Those were his 17th and 18th touchdown passes of the season. Here was the record-breaking pass, which also gave the Nittany Lions the lead in the first quarter:

Coming into Saturday’s game against Michigan State, McSorley had thrown for 2,071 yards and 16 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He’s also completed passes at a nearly 66 percent clip.
