Trace McSorley – the former QB star at Penn State – had a strong performance in the Arizona Cardinals’ 36-23 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday night. McSorley looks to have an impact season in his fourth season in the league and second with Arizona.
McSorley started the game for Arizona as he completed 13-of-22 passes for 163 yards, 1 touchdown, and a quarterback rating of 97.3. His touchdown came in the first drive on a 4-yard pass to Andre Baccellia to put Arizona up 7-0.

His other great play in the game came with two minutes left until halftime with a 36-yard pass to wide receiver Andy Isabella after escaping from pressure. That play would help set up a 1-yard touchdown run from Jonathan Ward.

The only season where McSorley threw a pass in an NFL game came in the 2020 season with the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 3-of-10 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Kyler Murray remains the starter and star QB in Arizona, but the depth chart behind Murray is likely up for grabs. We’ll see if McSorley can anchor himself as the primary backup for the Cardinals.
