Penn State has a chance to do something special in the Citrus Bowl. With a win over Kentucky on New Year’s Day, the Nittany Lions will post their third straight 10-win season. That kind of streak hasn’t happened since the 1980-1982 seasons.

That’s what is on the line for Penn State. But a few individuals have an opportunity to reach some incredible milestones, as well. Those might be a little less likely, though.

Quarterback Trace McSorley would need 346 passing yards to eclipse 10,000 yards for his career at Penn State. Hitting that mark is certainly within the realm of possibility, but McSorley hasn’t thrown for over 300 yards yet this season. The last time he eclipsed that total was in last year’s Fiesta Bowl against Washington.

What better time to go over the 300-yard mark than the Citrus Bowl?

Running back Miles Sanders also has the chance to do something impressive, though he’d have to have the outing of a lifetime to do it.

Sanders is 274 rushing yards away from posting a higher single-season total than former Penn State superstar Saquon Barkley ever hit. He needs 159 yards to crack Penn State’s top 20 all-time list and 49 yards to eclipse Barkley’s 2017 total of 1,271 yards.

Those are varying degrees of difficulty.

There’s plenty of reason to watch Tuesday’s Citrus Bowl between Penn State and Kentucky. We could see some impressive milestones reached.
