Trev Alberts is optimistic if anything as he searches for the next head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football program. While conducting this coaching search, Alberts believes there is more respect for the Cornhuskers program than anticipated.

Nebraska is one of the most well-established programs in the history of college football. The football program has 913 overall wins in school history, which is 9th all-time in the history of the sport.

The Cornhuskers have won 5 national titles, 46 conference titles, 54 consensus All-Americans and 3 Heisman Trophy winners.

After Nebraska lost to the Georgia Southern Eagles at home 45-42 in Week 3, Scott Frost was fired as head coach. Scott has accumulated an overall record of 16-31 with a 10-26 record in the B1G.

Assistant head coach/passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph has been interim head coach of Nebraska after the firing of Scott. Joseph has accumulated a record of 2-5 for Nebraska.
