As if losing to Ohio State wasn’t bad enough of a Friday night for Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, one member of the media weighed in and said he should lose his facial hair.
It was an ‘oops’ moment that only could happen in the midst of a pandemic as a reporter forget to go on mute during the media call following the College Football Playoff. Ohio State stepped up and represented the Big Ten rather well with a rather emphatic 49-28 win over Clemson.
In the midst of answering a question by saying that “They played a really good game” a voice on the virtual press conference suddenly appeared over Lawrence’s answer, stating that “Poor Trevor needs to shave his stache.”
Someone forgot to mute. 😳😳😳

The reporter obviously had forgotten to press ‘mute’ and was gently chided by the moderator for failing to do so.
Lawrence chuckled and said “Um, thank you” with another laugh.
Awkward.
It was a difficult night for the Clemson offense and Lawrence in particular. The presumptive first pick in this spring’s NFL Draft was 33-of-48 for 400 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Certainly not bad, but a bit off from his usual standard.
On the other sideline, Justin Fields, thought to be next in line as a possible second overall pick, was 22-of-28 for 385 yards with six touchdowns and an interception.
