Trey Sermon has been preaching the last two games for Ohio State, a stretch of performances that rank among the very best in Ohio State history.
And, his big performances are spelling fire and brimstone for the opposition.
With a big night against Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, Sermon’s 524 rushing yards the are the most for any Buckeyes running back in consecutive games. There is certainly nothing to atone for from Sermon these past two games.

His 331 rushing yards two weeks ago in the Big Ten Championship Game against Northwestern was followed-up with 193 rushing yards on Friday night in a 49-28 win over Clemson. His balling out in the College Football Playoff certainly caught national headlines.
He also has three rushing touchdowns in the past two games, spearheading No. 3 Ohio State to a meeting with No. 1 Alabama in the championship of the College Football Playoff.
On the year, Sermon has 868 rushing yards on 115 carries with four rushing touchdowns.
Should he decide to go pro, his stock is surely rising ahead of this spring’s NFL Draft. Another performance like the two he has had the past couple of games and he could be looking at some Joel Osteen like silly money in his NFL contract.
