Wisconsin used some flashy plays to take a first-half lead over Army Saturday night.

After a scoreless 1st quarter, Wisconsin got the scoring started in the 2nd with a 33-yard touchdown run from running back Braelon Allen.

Then, on Wisconsin’s next series, the Badgers pulled off a convincing fake punt to set up a 36-yard pass from Graham Mertz to Danny Davis III to the Army 16-yard line. Wisconsin eventually scored a touchdown on a QB keeper from Mertz. But the Badgers missed the extra point, making it a 13-0 game.

The game wasn’t expected to be particularly close, especially considering ESPN’s FPI gave Wisconsin a 79.8% chance of victory. The Badgers are coming off a 24-0 victory over Illinois last week and are using the game against Army as one final tune-up for the home stretch of B1G play.
