Before Nebraska’s game against Penn State this past weekend, former starting quarterback Adrian Martinez gave a heartfelt speech to the entire Cornhuskers team.
A video of the speech was posted on Nebraska Football’s official Twitter account earlier today:

Martinez really wanted his teammates to remember that the Huskers are a family, regardless of who is playing:
“I don’t want you guys to forget, we’re a family,” said Martinez. “No matter what happens, no matter who’s out there, we support each other. We’re going to keep that energy today. Everyone who’s not in, who is in, we’re going to bring it. I got a great feeling.”
He went on to remind the team to keep heads up and maintain energy on the sidelines:
“No matter what happens, ups and downs, keep your head up. No more head down on the sideline,” explained Martinez. “We’re here for each other, that’s what we’re going to remember. You feel me? I want to win. It’s not about me, it’s not about him, it’s about us.”
What a speech from Martinez as it showed that he’s all about the team and that he didn’t let his personal feelings about getting benched get in the way.
Nebraska ended up winning that game over Penn State 30-23. They face Illinois up next this Saturday at Noon ET.
